optical transfer

making an optical transfer from a computer to a minidisc . This is more involved than describing it; try it , it's fussy.

There's also the matter of having a song to play , you don't want to forget that .

Transfers which are entirely numbers, which don't involve any analogue coloration or room ambience often have a result of being very constricting , sometimes almost sickening to my senses. There is also a liberation which is possible when one breaks out at the end ( like leaving a tunnel ) and returns to the atmosphere .

I also noticed that when I was running the sequence there was a message stating that the midi output did not synchronize with the clocking of an external device . I was probably sending midi data to the optical output built into the computer , and the message vanished when I switched that output to the sound card . - wondering if there are devices which receive midi via optical input and whether midi is still really midi spec or higher resolution , closer timing .
