choit augustus

i've been quite fascinated by this very recently. transcribed sequence of notes and score from the vocal arrangement of a song i recorded.

just played straight, as a midi file:

being inspired mildly by the statements of vocal jazz being the music of corporate automobile manufacturing germany, decided to attempt an stab arrangement.

the soprano fares quite well on her own

alto sounds a natural range and very intense

tenor is mostly rather low notes, and by now it becomes obvious that this for choir and not only four singers. for practicality and fun it might be possible to play the electronic voices against the four singers who have chosen their parts , note lines: this could sound good - create some depth tension and even reintroduce some jazz into the genre.

the bass evidently is missing a sustained low note near the beginning; this was just part of the improvised introduction , ran over and obstructed the first cadence of the piece, had to be curtailed anyway - maybe isn't important. i like the point where he sings a brief high note ( with the soprano?) and think this could be really effective in a concert environment.
